Arbor Investments Tees Up Sponsorship with PGA Tour Player Scott Harrington

Jan. 9, 2020

Arbor Investments (“Arbor”), a specialized private equity firm that focuses exclusively on investing in the food and beverage industry, announced today its sponsorship of PGA Tour player Scott Harrington. Harrington’s ascension to the PGA Tour this past fall has been the feel-good, heart-warming rookie story of the golf season.

Harrington, a 39-year-old PGA Tour rookie, earned his 2019-20 Tour card in August after grinding for 16 years on minor-league circuits, including putting his career on hold in 2018 to care for his wife Jenn while she battled cancer, now in remission. Since joining the Tour in the fall, Harrington has been making the most of his opportunity. Off to a fast start in his rookie season, including a 2nd place finish at the Houston Open, Harrington is currently ranked 28th in the FedEx Cup standings.

“Scott is a tremendous competitor and we’re excited to have him as an ambassador for the Arbor brand,” said Arbor CEO Gregory Purcell. “This partnership clearly embodies our mission of supporting driven entrepreneurs in chasing their dream. Scott’s years of perseverance and determination to play on golf’s biggest stage is remarkable and mirrors the path of so many of our investments. We wish him much success in the tournaments ahead.”

The partnership came about as a result of familiarity between the two parties. Harrington starred as a collegiate player at Northwestern University where he befriended fellow classmate and Arbor Partner, Alan Weed. The firm has been following Harrington’s career since he graduated in 2003.

Harrington commented, “I’m flattered by the support from Arbor and look forward to representing their impressive brand on the course. As successful builders of businesses, they know there is no substitute for hard work and can appreciate my journey to making the Tour.”

As part of the agreement, Harrington will wear the Arbor Investments logo on his sleeve at PGA events beginning with his appearance this week at The Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii.
