Chicago fund buys Rice Garden chain

Chicago private-equity firm Arbor Private Investment has acquired quick-serve Chinese restaurant chain Rice Garden of California. Terms were not disclosed. Privately held Rice Garden has more than 70 outlets in 10 states, including one at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Some 70% are inside supermarkets.
